Pregnant Jacqueline Jossa reveals she’s worried about how to pay her bills after being unexpectedly written out of EastEnders
JACQUELINE Jossa has revealed she’s worried about getting regular work after being written out of EastEnders.
The actress, who plays Lauren Branning, is set to leave the BBC soap, alongside her screen sister Abi, played by Lorna Fitzgerald in the next few weeks.
The star, who has just announced she is pregnant with her second child, has been on the soap for seven years and was concerned when she first heard she was being written out.
Speaking to , she revealed her fears for her future, saying: “I had my suspicions that something might be going on because of the way my storylines were going, so I asked for a meeting to discuss what was happening.
“When they told me the plans I was really scared. Getting a job on a soap is a very comforting thing for an actress because it’s regular work, so when I realised that was being taken away, it did worry me.”
She went on to admit that she found filming her final scenes really sad.
“It was a lot sadder than I thought it was going to be,” she said.
“My last scene is with Jake [Wood, who plays Jacqueline’s on-screen dad Max Branning] and thankfully I was supposed to be crying because I couldn’t stop the tears from coming!”
Jacqueline joined the soap in 2010. The actress — wed to ex-Towie star Dan, 26 — left in 2015 to have baby Ella, now two, and returned in May last year.
Following the news of her exit, her husband Dan offered support, telling her: "The show will miss these 2 characters.. You are so talented babe and I'm proud of you. This is just the beginning of your career."
Dan, who was sacked from Towie in 2015, has recently opened his own tattoo parlour in Essex called Ink Paradise, after struggling to find secure work
He isn’t concerned about Jacqueline’s future as an actress, saying: "Work is important to her so she will soon have things lined up once she's out of contract."
