Little Mix have been secretly recording their fifth album as they prepare to storm the charts in 2018

LITTLE  Mix are building up for another busy year as it's been revealed the girls are currently recording their fifth album.

It was previously thought the band would take a much-needed break after their mammoth 75-date Glory Days world tour last year.

Singer/songwriter Raye confirmed the news, and spoke to the Daily Star about the need for girls to support each other in a male-dominated music industry.

Raye said: "The Little Mix album, I've been writing for that. For every 10 guys there's one girl, everywhere you go.

"It's very overwhelming and I think it's really important that girls have started to support each other more, all becoming friends, and it's like a community. It's so important.

"I think we need more female collaborations because it isn't enough."

The girls have been working alongside newcomer RayeThe band have been growing in popularity, with their last album, Glory Days, being their most successful to date.

Fans were upset when last week the Brit nominations were announced, with Little Mix seemingly snubbed from the category of Best Group.

But the band weren't able to qualify for the category as their album Glory Days was released in 2016, and artists are only nominated if they've had a new album out.

But bandmate Jade Thirlwall was quick to point out that if "it was based on sales and stuff" they would be riding high.

It comes as Perrie Edwards has been attracting attention as she continues to post a string of raunchy snaps.

Last week the 24-year-old star showed off her incredible figure as she posed in a series of black and white photos from her recent holiday.

In one photo, the star is seen doing a headstand against a door in a fluffy coat and bikini, while in another she was seen laying back on the side of a swimming pool.

She simply captioned the headstand picture "zero f***s given" - following some fans branded her "tacky" for sharing a sexy shot online of her dressed in just a chunky cardigan and a white thong.

She spent her first Christmas with footballer boyfriend, Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain, and joined family members for the big day saying he was "exactly what I want."
