The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus reveals TWO major characters will leave show in next series
The actor believes the show will be dealt a 'big blow' when two key people depart the hit zombie drama which returns to screens in February
THE Walking Dead's Norman Reedus has revealed two major characters are set to leave the hit zombie drama in the new series.
Having starred in the show since its first season, the boyfriend of actress Diane Kruger, claims the departure of two key actors, who "are the heart of the show", will be a "big blow".
He said: "The people that started this show, to me, are the heart of the show.
"When you lose those key members, it's such a big blow.
"If you want to hold on to what made the show special, you've got to be very careful what you do with those people."
Norman, 49, is referring to the imminent loss of characters Carl and Morgan, who have been a part of The Walking Dead since its first episode.
The show's mid season finale in December saw Carl Grimes, played by Chandler Riggs, 18, bitten by a deadly zombie.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Morgan Jones, played by Lennie James, will also be leaving by the end of the season in order to star in spinoff Fear Of The Walking Dead.
The decision to kill off the young character has angered fans.
Forbes revealed that a petition has been signed by over 80,000 people calling for writer Scott Gimple to be fired.
The Walking Dead returns February 25, 2018 on AMC in the US and February 26, 2018 on FOX and NOW TV in the UK.
Norman, who has also starred in film Blade 2, is currently dating actress Diane Kruger, 41.
The couple appeared at the Golden Globes together on Sunday, where Diane wore a black dress for the Time's Up campaign.
Previously, Norman was in a relationship with model Helena Christensen.
