Ricky Martin announces he’s married long-term beau Jwan Yosef in secret ceremony
The Latin singer announced his happy news on the red carpet of his new TV show, American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace. He has been dating Jwan for the past two years.
RICKY Martin has confirmed that he has secretly married his long-term partner, Jwan Yosef.
The 46-year-old Livin’ La Vida Loca star announced the happy news to E! on the red carpet of his new television show American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace.
Speaking on the carpet, the Puerto Rican star revealed: "It feels amazing! I can't introduce him as my fiancé. I can't. He's my husband. He's my man."
He also revealed that the pair will have a “huge party” to celebrate the union properly, after getting married in secret.
Joking with the presenter, he said: “The typical three-day party, the dinner, the rehearsal, the party and the recovery. You'll be the first to know.”
Ricky and Jwan have been together since 2016, getting engaged in November of that year when Ricky got down on one knee.
Jwan is a 33-year-old Syrian-born artist who was raised in Sweden and is currently based in London.
The couple raise Ricky’s nine-year-old twin sons Matteo and Valentino together, and they frequently appear together on magazines in the US.
Ricky had previously revealed to Out magazine that he deliberately lives his life in the spotlight in a bid to normalise same-sex unions.
He told them: “I want people to look at me and see a family and say, ‘There’s nothing wrong with that.’ It’s part of my mission.
“It’s part of my kids’ mission as well. My kids ask me about having two daddies and I tell them we are a part of a modern family.
“This is a beautiful sense of freedom.”
