  1. It’s set in Britain

So many of our favourite shows are set abroad, or even in made up or mythical lands. Britannia is different because not only is it set in Britain, but it’s set in our past and based on a time in our history. (We should say, though it's all based on history, it's not all strictly true. It's Jez Butterworth's interpretation of a fairly unknown part of history).

  1. Find out more about the powerful Druids

Mackenzie Crook (Pirates of The Caribbean) stars in Britannia as Veran the leader of the Druids. Feared and respected all at once, Veran answers to no one but the gods. Tune in to find out why the Druids were so powerful in Roman Britain.

  1. Experience a world run by wild warrior women

Britannia is set in 43AD, 100 years after the first failed attempt by the roman army to take Britain. At this time, our island was overrun with wild warrior women heading up their different tribes. Britannia will show the power struggle between these women, the druids and the romans.

  1. It’s written by Jez Butterworth

Multi award winning screenwriter and playwright Jez Butterworth is behind the show. With movies like Spectre and Black Mass in his portfolio he’s sure to have created an exciting and action packed story.
