Celebrity Big Brother’s Wayne Sleep says The Queen caught the Queen Mother sneakily drinking gin during an official meeting
THE Queen Mother was once caught drinking gin during an official meeting by her daughter, it has been revealed.
Celebrity Big Brother star Wayne Sleep tells the anecdote in tonight’s episode of the Channel 5 show.
He was at Clarence House when The Queen found four empty bottles of the booze secretly drunk by her mother - who died in 2002 - in a cupboard.
On the show at 9pm tonight on Channel 5, Wayne tells Rachel Johnson: “I think some delegate from Ghana was over and invited to Clarence House.
“And the Queen came along, just the three of them, and she went, ‘what would you like?’ She said, ‘I’d like a gin and tonic’.
“She said, ‘no worries at all’. Opened the cupboards. There were four empty gin bottles there and she turned and went, ‘mummy!’.
“That was the Queen with the Queen Mother. ‘Mummy!’ Empties.”
