THE 75th Golden Globe Awards saw some of the biggest names in showbiz stand united against the Hollywood sex scandal that rocked the industry just months ago.
Stars including Angelina Jolie, Catherine Zeta Jones and Claire Foy all wore black in a silent protest against the abuse which centred around allegations made against movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.
Tonight's star-studded ceremony also saw winners, including Oprah Winfrey, Nicole Kidman and Laura Dern, use their time on the podium to thank the brave women who spoke out against the abuse.
The show of support for the “Me Too” movement and the “Time’s Up” campaign echoed around the world as viewers stood united with the stars by wearing black while watching the ceremony.
The “Me Too” hashtag, which started trending worldwide following a call to action from actress Alyssa Milano, has been used by some of the biggest A-list stars including Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Lawrence, Gwyneth Paltrow and Lady Gaga.
Time’s Up, an initiative created by 300 female Hollywood actors, executives, writers and directors to “counter systemic sexual harassment in the entertainment business”, created pins which many of tonight’s attendees proudly wore.
It wasn’t a great night for British talent with just two stars, Gary Oldman and Ewan McGregor, flying the flag when it came to going home with a gong.
Part of her speech read: “I want all the girls watching to know a new day is on the horizon.
“And when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men, fighting hard to make sure they are the leaders to take us to the time where nobody has to say ‘me too’ again.”
He told the audience: “Good evening ladies and remaining gentlemen.”
The comedian later added: “It's 2018 and marijuana is finally allowed in California and sexual harassment finally isn't, it's going to be a good year.”
Not everyone on the invite list got the memo however.
Some viewers slated TV star Blanca Blanco for arriving at the event wearing a bright red dress.
As well as inspirational speeches, including a powerful monologue delivered by Big Little Lies actress Reese Witherspoon, there were some that raised eyebrows.
Ewan McGregor caused a stir when he stepped up to collect his Best Actor gong for his role in Fargo.
The Scottish star thanked his estranged wife Eve Makaris along with his new lover Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
Jennifer Aniston and Angelina avoided an awkward run in on the red carpet.
The women, whose alleged feud began in 2005 when Brad Pitt, 54, left Jennifer for Angelina, will both present awards.
Emma Stone, Meryl Streep, Michelle Williams, Shailene Woodley, Emma Watson, Susan Sarandon, Laura Dern and Amy Poehler were all accompanied by a female activist on the carpet.
Harry Potter star Emma’s guest was Marai Larasi, from British organisation Imkaan. Michelle Williams was with the founder of the Me Too Tarana Burke.
Susan walked the red carpet with community organiser Rosa Clemente and Meryl stood shoulder to shoulder with Ai-Jen Poo, director of the National Domestic Worker’s Alliance.
Laura Dern took Monica Ramirez, who campaigns for women in industries, as her guest, while Shailene Woodley was joined by Calina Lawrence, a Suquamish Tribe member and activist.
Amy Poehler beamed as she posed for pictures with her guest, justice advocate Saru Jayaraman.
