Towie’s Lucy Mecklenburgh calls truce with ex Mark Wright and praises his ‘hard working’ attitude
EX-TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh has called a truce with ex-boyfriend Mark Wright, revealing her pride over his TV presenting success in LA.
Mark, 30, who hosts US entertainment show Extra, once branded Lucy a “kiss and tell girl” but has now patched things up with his ex.
The presenter was furious when Lucy opened up about their 2010 romance, saying Mark was "obsessed with his looks".
Lucy, 26, said: “What Mark has done shows that hard work pays off if you have goals. Everyone's smashing it in their own way.
“Everyone from the original Towie cast is doing really well.
"People have a stereotype about Essex, it makes me feel really proud. We’re all really hard workers.”
Lucy, who is dating former Corrie star Ryan Thomas after meeting him on TV show Channel 4’s Celebrity Island last year, revealed she’s not in any rush to have children.
She said: “I can barely look after myself, you should see the state of my house right now, I desperately need to sort out. I definitely would love a family one day though, when work is less busy.
"It’s not my priority right now. I never put a time limit on things, I’m not obsessed about age. People get obsessed about it”
While she is grateful for the fame she has found on Towie, she has ruled out returning to the show.
She said: “I really don’t think I would. It was four years ago that I left and I’m really happy with my life now. I don’t see myself ever doing it, plus I don’t know 90 per cent of the cast.
"But I’ll always be thankful to the show for the opportunities it has bought me. I do watch it as much as I can. I was only 19 when I did the series, I’m a different person now and grew up in front of the nation.”
