STRICTLY Come Dancing winner Joe McFadden has revealed he’s hoping for a career comeback in the new year.
The actor - who was killed off on Holby City last week - triumphed on the ballroom dancing competition with partner Katya Jones , but doesn't have a job to go to when he wraps up the Strictly tour.
But today, the 42-year-old revealed he has plans to return to TV and is even considering a West End career, so his new dance skills don’t go to waste.
Speaking on Lorraine, about what was next, he said: “Who knows? I am looking forward to having a rest and then coming back because I think it would be a real shame to let it all go away.”
The host asked him: “What about the West End?”
He replied: “That would be nice. Maybe a bit of telly. Now that I have finished on Holby it would be nice to try on some different hats and see if I am capable of playing any other characters.
“That was the good thing about doing Strictly, it gave me a chance of being not just a surgeon on Holby for a while.”
It comes after he revealed he was feeling “optimistic” about future, telling The Sun: "I’m very optimistic about the future, things are looking up.
"I’m feeling really good, looking forward to having a really good rest over Christmas."
He also confirmed he was single to The Sun and admitted he had been too busy with Strictly to meet someone.
Meanwhile Joe praised his pro dancer Katya Jones, admitting he’ll be jealous when she gets a new partner.

He said: “Any partner is going to do well with that girl. I’m jealous of all the partners that she’s going to have because they’re all going to do well because she wouldn’t have it any other way.”
And discussing her reaction when they won, he revealed: “She was so, so happy and I’m so happy for her. She has literally dragged me through kicking and screaming!
“We’d had a not very good dress rehearsal in the afternoon. Katya turned to me and said, ‘If we do it like that then there’ll be no glitterballs tonight!”
