Doctor Foster’s Suranne Jones battles to rescue missing daughter in trailer for her nail-biting new drama Save Me
Actress Suranne plays the mother of a missing daughter in the Sky Atlantic drama
THE first look at Suranne Jones' new child abduction drama Save Me has been revealed.
BAFTA-winning Doctor Foster star Suranne stars as Claire, a mother of a missing daughter who becomes convinced her ex of just a few months is responsible for the kidnapping of their daughter.
The thriller, which will air on Sky Atlantic, also stars Line of Duty star Lennie James as Claire's ex Nelly.
Nelly’s world is turned upside down when he is arrested and accused of kidnapping the 13-year-old daughter he barely knew existed.
Jody’s mother, Claire who shared a "summer of love" with Nelly 14 years ago, is convinced of his guilt forcing Nelly to clear his name by finding the real abductor and save his daughter.
With the help of his community, Nelly will stop at nothing in his life-changing quest for the truth.
It’s a a journey that will challenge him to be a better man, and atone for his past mistakes, not least towards Claire.
But the further he travels, the more he realises the answers to his quest lie closer to home than he could ever have thought.
Actors Stephen Graham, Susan Lynch, Kerry Godliman and Jason Flemyng also star in the upcoming drama that will air next year on Sky Atlantic.
Suranne previously revealed how filming the show helped her cope with her mother's death.
"It was a really difficult time for me, personally," she said at a Sky showcase event.
"I'd just lost my mother and I'd just had a child, so actually going to work and telling stories like this... it's kind of therapeutic in a very bizarre way.
"It was difficult, but I came out of it feeling like something had shifted, that something had happened."
