Cheryl confirms she’s back in the studio with Afrobeats ‘super-producers’ Team Salut and fans are thrilled she’s finally making new music
CHERYL has confirmed she’s back in the studio and revealed she’s making music with super producers Team Salut.
The singer sent fans into a frenzy after she tweeted about having a “great session” with the Afrowave stars and her former Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts.
She wrote: “😂🤣 thank you for a great session 🙌🏼 you guys are amazing 🤩 .. quick maths 🤪”
The trio - who have worked with the likes of Zayn Malik, Rita Ora and Anne-Marie – had tweeted her about their amazing day.
“Today’s session has been the highlight of our year 😢 @NicolaRoberts @CherylOfficial saaaafe🤜🏾🤜🏾❤❤ quick maths 🤣🤣,” they said.
They added: “Lol yh man was fun. Still dont know how you did it, or maybe it was the coffee 🤣 @NicolaRoberts we gonna get your bongos for the next one😀.”
Nicola previously revealed she has been writing music for Cheryl, saying: "I'm writing for Cheryl and also for myself.
"Hopefully those songs are good enough to make it out into the world."
Team Salut are considered the premiere producers in London’s Afro scene and are very much in demand.
Not surprisingly the news went down very well with fans who rushed to tell her how excited they were.
One person wrote: “Don't leave us hanging Chez we've been waiting forevvvveerrrr for a sign of new music you can't tease us like this 🌚”
While another remarked: “You disappear for ages then come back n casually mention you’ve been in the studio?? excuse me x”
Back in 2014, Cheryl became the first British female solo artist to have five No 1 singles, cementing her status in pop history.
The 34-year-old released her last album, Only Human, back in 2014.
She took some time out of the spotlight to spend time with her son Bear, who was born in March, and has been slowly returning to public life, including a cameo on the X Factor.

Cheryl, who is in a relationship with Liam Payne, recently said she was in no rush to go back to work but said she did have some plans.
Speaking to Dan Wootton on Lorraine, she said: “I am thinking about it but I want more time with Bear at the moment. I do have plans and I receiving songs and music at the moment".
She continued: “I've got the luxury of being able to spend time with my new child.
"Some mums have to rush back to work, but I'm going to take the time to spend time with him and then go back."
