Gogglebox star Sandra Martin axed from a pantomime for ‘boozing before going on stage’
GOGGLEBOX star Sandra Martin has been axed from her panto amid claims she was boozing before going on stage.
Sandra, 55, began fluffing her lines on the opening night of Aladdin.
Bosses got the impression she was tipsy and sent her home after the first half.
Her starring role as the Spirit of the Ring was completed on Sunday by a dancer.
The theatre said Sandra would not be returning for “health reasons”.
A source said: “Staff noticed she was noticeably impaired during the performance.
“She was told by one, ‘You’ve got to go and you can’t go back on’.
"I’ve never heard of anyone go in the middle of a performance.”
Sandra, who left Channel 4’s Gogglebox earlier this year, was thrilled to win the part at the Pearce Suite Theatre in Maidenhead, Berks.
She announced her exit from Aladdin on Twitter.
