Coronation Street Christmas spoilers: Adam Barlow in horrifying suicide bid after learning Billy Mayhew killed his mother
Adam will take drastic action after learning Billy was responsible for his mother Susan's death
ADAM Barlow is to be left fighting for his life at Christmas on Coronation Street.
The solicitor - who is played by actor Sam Robertson in the ITV soap - will take drastic action over the festive period when he discovers that vicar Billy Mayhew was responsible for the car crash that killed his mother Susan and put him in hospital.
When Adam gets the whole story behind the tragedy, he seems to want to end it all by swallowing painkillers and booze.
But luckily he will be saved by his uncle Daniel Osbourne when the journalist returns home to find Adam unconscious surrounded by empty bottles and pills.
When Daniel tries to call an ambulance, Adam begs him not to.
The Barlow clan, led by Ken, then rallies around and supports him, even when he confesses that he has previously had a drugs problem.
Adam has been on a rollercoaster ride ever since he first appeared in Weatherfield in 2001.
After the fatal car crash, dad Mike died of a heart attack in 2006 and he was then locked in a battle with his brother to get his inheritance.
Meanwhile the ordeal will further fuel Peter Barlow's revenge scheme against Billy as he attacks the vicar and puts him in the boot of his car.
Driving him to the edge of a cliff, Peter makes a terrifying decision and then returns home and confesses all to dad Ken who orders the family to say nothing.

A soap insider previously told The Sun: “This is yet another blow for Ken.
“It’s one of the most upsetting family problems he’s ever had to cope with — and he’s had to deal with quite a few.
“This may also herald the start of a downward spiral for Adam, whose time on Coronation Street has already been far from plain sailing.”
