Amir Khan’s wife Faryal Makhdoom defends him amid Iain Lee bullying accusations and reveals their marriage is back on track

AMIR Khan’s wife Faryal Makhdoom has defended him amid accusations he has been bullying Iain Lee.

The 26-year-old, who is pregnant with their second child, appeared on This Morning today via video link to talk to Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes about the boxer’s stint on I’m A Celebrity.

When quizzed about whether he was playing a game, after he was seen teasing Iain Lee last night, she replied: “I have no idea. I think Amir is the way he is. He didn’t even know he was being filmed the first few days! I think he is the way he is, as you see him on TV.”

She continued: “With Iain I can’t really say anything. I think they all say things to each other, but when Amir says something everyone catches on to it more, with Iain I think it sometimes get ignored. But I think they are both doing great.

“I am sure Iain's family is proud of him too.”

The New York native revealed she was very surprised by "strawberry-gate" and claimed it was not something that Amir would normally do.

“That is not something that Amir would do,” she said.  “I was shocked. I had my mouth open for two minutes. I never knew he liked strawberries that much”

“Normally he’s quite sharing.”

Faryal made the decision not to fly to Australia because the flight was too long while she was pregnant, but she revealed that her relationship with Amir is very much back on track.

Addressing their tumultuous year, she said: “We have left everything in the past. We are just looking for a brighter future.

“We are hoping for everything to go smooth, to have my baby and get Amir’s career back on track.

The stunning mum-of-one is hoping to jet off on holiday when her husband gets back but she’s not sure how far he will go in the show.

She said: “I think he is the king of the ring, I am not so sure about the jungle!”
