OVER the years Vernon Kay has enjoyed an incredible career, and is now one of the UK's leading TV and radio stars.
The top presenter is back on the box hosting Children In Need 2024.
Vernon Charles Kay was born in Bolton on April 28, 1974.
He is an English television presenter, radio DJ and former model.
Vernon started his career as a model before switching to TV, hosting T4 on Channel 4 in 2000.
He stands at a massive 6 foot 4 inches tall.
Since 2023, Vernon has hosted Radio 2's mid-morning show after taking over from Ken Bruce.
Vernon took part in I'm A Celebrity in 2020, when it was relocated to Wales during the pandemic.
He has presented his own Radio 1 show between 2004 and 2012.
From 2015 until 2017 he fronted a show on Radio X.
In November 2023, Vernon ran an ultramarathon for Children In Need, covering 115 miles.
Vernon met Tess Daly in 2001 when he was hosting T4.
The pair married in 2003 in Horwich, near Vernon's native Bolton.
They even presented BBC singing competition Just The Two Of Us together from 2006 to 2007.
Tess is of course famous for hosting Strictly Come Dancing.
The couple have two children together.
Their first child, Phoebe, was born in 2004.
The pair then welcomed Amber in 2009.
Vernon's first big presenting role was on the popular weekend Channel 4 show T4, aimed at teenagers and young people.
The star was a co-presenter on the series for five years between 2000 and 2005.
He worked with the likes of June Sarpong and Simon Amstell.
Vernon has since moved on to more prime time TV shows.
When ITV launched All Star Family Fortunes, he was given the plum job of hosting it.
The show was the celebrity version of the family game show that sees families compete for top prizes, while guessing survey questions.
He hosted the show from October 2006 until June 2015.
Vernon was also at the helm of ITV's Sunday night show, Splash!
Joined by Tom Daley and Gabby Logan, the show only ran for two seasons.
The series saw celebrities compete in diving competitions.
It ran on ITV from 2013 to 2014.
In 2022, Vernon was crowned the winner of The Masked Singer as it aired a special I'm A Celebrity edition.

In August 2024, Vernon hosted Team GB's Homecoming by The National Lottery which celebrated Great Britain's return from the Paris Olympics.
