Ex-Manchester United ace Ryan Giggs and estranged wife Stacey agree on divorce settlement

RYAN Giggs has settled his £40million divorce row with estranged wife Stacey.

The pair, who married in September 2007, split after the ex-Manchester United star romped with his brother’s wife.

Giggs, 44, had been fighting Stacey in court over giving her a chunk of his huge fortune.

Experts predicted Stacey might get half of his vast £48million fortune.

Lawyers for the pair announced yesterday they had finally come to an agreement and couple “remain firm friends”.

Former Welsh footie ace Giggs has two children with Stacey, 39, but had an eight-year affair with his younger brother Rhodri’s wife Natasha Lever.

He then had a six-month fling with Welsh Big Brother star Imogen Thomas – and £150,000 on legal fees trying to stop the tryst becoming public.

During divorce proceedings at London’s High Court, Giggs argued he made a “special contribution” to the creation of wealth during his marriage to Stacey.

His multimillion-pound fortune was earned after notching 963 appearances for Manchester United over 24 seasons.

He also bagged 64 Welsh international caps before hanging up his boots in 2014.

Lawyers said last night: “Ryan and Stacey Giggs are pleased to say that they have managed to reach a financial settlement in their divorce.

“This concludes the divorce proceedings and they will not be making any further comment.

“The terms of the settlement are confidential, but both wished to express their sincere thanks to their respective legal teams.

“They are pleased to leave this chapter of their lives as firm friends.”
