Strictly’s Karen Clifton admits she’s ‘working on marriage’ to Kevin but it’s ‘not easy’ as she speaks for the first time on reports they’re ‘barely speaking’
KAREN Clifton has addressed reports her marriage to fellow dancer Kevin is in trouble - admitting they're working on the relationship, but it isn't easy.
Strictly Come Dancing insiders told The Sun's Bizarre team last week that the pair were barely speaking and could be the latest couple to suffer the show's infamous "curse."
But speaking to The Sun Online at tonight's OK! Beauty Awards, Karen explained: "We're just a regular couple, we've been together for seven years and like any other relationship you have your ups and downs and nothing is ever perfect so you make it work.
"Everything is fine. It adds a little bit of spark to the relationship and it just means that we care about each other. We just need to keep pushing and relationships take work, it's not as easy as you think, especially being in a job like Strictly."
Kevin and his celebrity dance partner Susan Calman were the latest pairing to be voted off the show on Sunday night, and Karen is pleased to have more time with her husband.
She said: "He's doing great, he's resting so he's actually getting some sleep now.
"I always take care of him so if anything I always come home and I cook for him and do his laundry so it's just nice to have him home.
"There's been lots of wine drinking and taking naps."
Sources previously told Bizarre that their relationship had “become strained” during this year’s series — with Kevin, 35, regularly travelling up to Scotland to train with Susan.
Group rehearsals involving Karen, 35 — voted off last month with chef Simon Rimmer — have also been awkward, it is claimed.
