Newsreader India Willoughby signs up for Celebrity Big Brother 2018
The nation's first trans newsreader will spice up the CBB house
NEWSREADER India Willoughby is in talks to make Celebrity Big Brother’s most explosive series yet.
The Channel 5 host made history when she transitioned and became the nation’s first trans newsreader last year and now she is set to spice up the CBB house with her forthright views.
A source told The Sun Online: “India is in talks to sign up for the show- they’d love to land her.
“She’s outspoken would be amazing television.”
Working a a TV reporter at ITV Border, India, then known as Jonathan, presented the news in the North East and Cumbria.
She has an teenage son named Rhodes and is based in Newcastle.
In 2010, she quit her regional job in Carlisle, Cumbria, after ten years of the presenting its news show.
Five years later, she returned to TV and announced that she had transitioned to female and was now named India.
India currently works as a newsreader on Channel 5 news and has made appearances on Loose Women.
She is also a trans rights activist which she balances with being a single mother to her teenage son.
A Celebrity Big Brother spokeswoman said: “We don’t comment on speculation.”
Other names rumoured to be going into the house include Baroness Michelle Mone.
