I’M A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! bosses are secretly fuming with their big name signing Kezia Dugdale after having next to no impact on the show.
The Scottish MSP, who was paid nearly six figures for her stint in the jungle, flunked her first live Bushtucker Trial and has failed to spark any kind of debate in camp.
Producers had geared much of the series into a political showdown, with party politics themed trials, and even a Number 10 Downing Creek set-up.
But the 36-year-old Labour politician, who arrived late in the jungle a week ago, has failed to enter into any sort of debate with former Tory MEP Stanley Johnson, 77, father of foreign secretary Boris.
A show insider said: “Kezia has been a massive let down since joining the show last week. She hasn’t bonded particularly well with other campmates and doesn’t see herself as part of that showbiz world, she has been acting superior.
“Far from coming out of her shell, she hasn’t broken from her politician mode once or shown a softer side, letting her personality come through.
“Bosses were ticked off that she barely bothered with the live trial, they thought she was a bad sport.
Kezia left viewers and crew unimpressed when she gave up seconds into the live Bushtucker Trial on Sunday night’s show tasked with downing a blended bull’s penis shake and blended pig and ostrich anus.
Even host Ant McPartlin, 42, revealed he was disappointed by her poor efforts.
The presenter blasted: “I have to say Kez gave up there. She gave up. She didn’t even try. She’s only got herself to blame.”

And the show’s trials producer Ben Aston agreed, adding: “We started planning these trials in April. Kez was a bit of a let down. She only had a little sip.”
It comes after the Aberdeen-born former Scottish Labour leader has failed to make an impression on her fellow campmates and has had little screen-time.
Kezia defended her decision to go into the jungle as a “an amazing platform to talk about politics and Labour values”.
