AS A fresh-faced teenager, Craig David burst onto the scene and scored a No. 1 single with his debut song.
After achieving huge success, the singer went away for a while before having a massive comeback - which he is still enjoying.
Who is Craig David?
Born Craig Ashley David on May 5, 1981, in Southampton, the singer was raised by his mother Tina after his parents separated when he was eight.
He first found fame featuring on the Artful Dodger smash Re-Rewind (The Crowd Say Bo Selecta) in 1999, which paved the way for his solo career.

Craig David on relationships
Craig went onto have a huge success after this, until he stepped away from limelight in the mid-noughties.
He moved to Miami and then returned to the music scene in 2016.
The singer achieved a top 20 single for the first time in a decade with his song, When The Bassline Drops - a collaboration with MC Big Narstie.
This tune cemented his comeback, and he has continued to release music again ever since.
Looking back on his years away from the music scene, Craig told the BBC: "If someone had said to me 'the best move for you now would be to go away and put the faders down for six years' I wouldn't have understood. But little did I know..."

What are Craig David's hit songs?
Craig released his debut solo single, Fill Me In, in 2000 and it quickly hit No. 1 in the charts.
He followed it up with another smash hit number one single, 7 Days, as well as Walking Away, which reached No. 3.
All three tracks are from his debut album, Born To Do It, which also topped the charts.
His second album, Slicker Than Your Average, reached No. 4 and spawned hit single Rise & Fall and Spanish.
Other hits include All The Way, Hot Stuff (Let's Dance) which samples the hit David Bowie song.
Is Craig David married?
Craig isn't married, and is a single man.
In fact, in June 2023, he revealed he was "celibate".
In a candid interview, the singer confessed to not dating anyone, and that he had not had a romp for “maybe a year or so”.
Craig told broadcaster Louis Theroux’s podcast that repeated one-night stands had lead to “many different traumas” — and said a sex break was helping him focus and put him in the right mindset for when he next has a girlfriend.
The hitmaker insisted he wanted a relationship which started from “a good place”.
He added: “Sometimes you gotta pull it back, man. I’m 42 years old now — things are different.
“If we can’t deep dive, if I can’t have a conversation and at the same time laugh like crazy with you, and see the beauty from within you, then we’re just gonna be doing the same game that I’ve been playing since day one. I don’t want that anymore.”
Craig said he realised in his 20s and 30s that he had a string of superficial short-term relationships because he was scared of getting hurt.
That followed the painful break-up of a whirlwind romance when he was just 16.
He added: “I had never felt anything like that before. My heart kind of closed down.”
When did Craig David appear on Love Island?
Back in 2019, Craig made his first appearance on Love Island.
He performed his single You Know What, much to the delight of Islander Anton Danyluk.
The reality star was visibly moved when Craig performed in the villa.
In February 2024, Craig made his villa comeback for the All Stars spin-off show.
