I’m A Celebrity’s Jack Maynard jets out of Australia less than 24 hours after being kicked out of the jungle
JACK Maynard has left Australia less than 24 hours after being booted off I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Here.
Yesterday, The Sun reported how the YouTube star had quit after racist and homophobic tweets he had posted before appearing on the show came to light - and now it's been reported that he's already headed back to the UK.
His shock exit, just three days into his jungle stint, came in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Australia, which was Tuesday afternoon in the UK.
According to the the 22-year-old was ferried to a boutique hotel on Hope Island for a chat with show bosses and advisers, before heading home.
It’s thought bosses allowed him to leave so soon in order for him to avoid questions from the Australian press.
The paper reports that the decision to give Jack - who has over 1.2 million followers on YouTube – the boot was one that bosses agonised over until just a few hours before the show was due to air.
A source said: "Producers were locked in crisis talks for hours.
"ITV bosses were forced into a tense conversation about whether to kick out Jack.
"And they finally decided they had no choice but to let him go from the show."
Last night fans of the hit reality show were stunned when Ant and Dec broke the news of Jack's exit during a link in last night's episode.
A statement released by a spokesperson for the YouTube star explained he left the show so would be able to defend himself over the claims.

It read: "In the last few days Jack has been the subject of a succession of media stories which, given his position as a contestant on 'I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here' - filmed in the Australian jungle, with no contact with the outside world, he has been unable to respond to.
"Since it is only fair that everyone should be aware of any allegations made against them and should also have the right to defend themselves, it was agreed that it would be better to bring him out of the show.
"Jack agrees with this decision which was made by his representatives and ITV and thanks everyone who has supported him in the show this far."
Earlier this week, The Sun exclusively revealed a series of tweets by 22-year-old Jack when the ITV programme started.
In one message, posted online in June 2011, he said he was “At alices with my n****s!” He also repeatedly calls people “retards”.
In another post he tweeted pics of people with deformities with comments “in his prime” and “Ahahahaha! Sooo funny!” On one image of a black man with bulging eyes he added: “looking greatttt!!”
The Sun Online has contacted Jack's rep for comment.
