Backlash for boxer who said he had never seen the show before only for someone to dig up a tweet where he slammed it back in 2012
THE gloves are off already on I'm A Celebrity, with Amir Khan and Georgia Toffolo chosen to take on the first Bushtucker Trial.
Ant McPartlin revealed that after almost 2.4million votes, the public had finally selected their first "victim".
In a dramatic twist he revealed it was actually two people.
The chosen celebrities would take part in "Critter-cal Rescue".
Dec Donnelly explained: "So, Amir [Khan] and Toff [Georgia Toffolo]. The public have decided the person they want to see face Critter-cal Rescue is…"
Dropping a huge bombshell, he then revealed a huge twist, adding: "Both of you!";
Ant added: "Get yourselves ready, we'll see you at the Bushtucker Trial area later. Have a good day everyone."
Georgia clutched her head and gasped: "Oh my God, why? Oh no. I'm really shaky now!"
Concerned, Amir asked his fellow campmates: "Any ideas of what it's going to be?"
The official I'm A Celebrity Twitter account tweeted: "You have selected @amirkingkhan and @ToffTalks to take on Critter-cal Rescue. The very first Bushtucker Trial of the series! #ImACeleb."
It looks like fans have already lined up their favourites for the gut-renching trials.
One fan said: "Can't wait for this #ImACeleb," as a third wrote: "Haha good choice he's already said he's scared of everything. Well done Amir you will get voted for all the time now."
It looks like Amir could be facing backlash too after he was called out for branding I'm a Celebrity a show "for has beens" in a tweet from 2012 after signing up for this year's series.
Amir claimed he had never seen an episode of the show before signing up, but it seems he had quite a strong opinion of it regardless of that.
Five years ago when a fan asked if he would ever take part in the ITV show, he replied: "No it's for has beens".
Former Queen of the Jungle Vicky Pattison shared the old tweet this evening on her account, writing above it: "Oh dear... Looks like he had a change of heart" alongside a crying with laughter emoji and one of a pile of money.
