I’m A Celeb’s Dennis Wise hit by trolls who re-edit his Wikipedia page to say he enjoys a ‘pokey bum w***’
I'M A Celeb star Dennis Wise discovered at first hand the perils of a publicly-edited Wikipedia account as cheeky online trolls plastered rude sexual references on his page just minutes after he entered the jungle.
The ex footballer, who played for Premier League club Chelsea, found himself targeted by keyboard bullies who hacked the site to claim he enjoyed a "pokey bum w***."
Their attempts at causing havoc with the 50-year-old former midfielder's reputation were a success, with many I'm A Celeb viewers noticing the rude comment underneath a biography of his career.
Dennis entered the Aussie jungle during today's action-packed ITV show.
He was paired with WAG Rebekah Vardy, wife of Leicester City ace Jamie, yet ended up collaborating on his first task with Shappi Khorsandi.
Though some viewers were left more entertained by his profile switch up, and took to Twitter to share screen grabs of the change.
A viewer giggled: "Just searched Dennis Wise on Wiki to find out his age and found this ! #ImACelebrity2017 🤣."
Another put: "Someone edited the wiki page of Dennis Wise and it’s brilliant," as a third was in hysterics as they wrote: "Somebody changed Dennis Wise's Wikipedia hahahaha just clocked it."
Another mused: "Interesting opening line to Dennis Wise' Wikipedia page...."
One rather confused telly fan rounded off by quizzing: "Can someone explain to me what a pokey bum w*** is please?
"Apparently Dennis Wise played central midfield(I knew that) but what the f*** is a pokey bum w***? "Hope it’s not what I think it is this info is off Wikipedia #Baffled."
Should you wish to know the real details of Dennis' playing career, here goes.
He was a member of the 'Crazy Gang', along with Vinnie Jones and Lawrie Sanchez, who fired the Dons to FA Cup glory in 1988 - with Wise providing the cross for Sanchez to head the winner against Liverpool.
After signing for Chelsea in 1990 for a club record £1.6m, he went on to make 332 appearances and scored 52 times for the Blues from midfield.
Famed for his no-nonsense style but often under-appreciated for his skill on the ball, Wise won two more FA Cup's at the Bridge, as well as the League Cup and Cup Winners Cup.
He gained notoriety with some outside of football in 1995 when he was sentenced to three months jail time for an assault on a taxi driver.
After receiving 21 England caps, he moved on from Chelsea in 2001 and had spells at Leicester, Millwall and Southampton, before retiring in 2006 whilst at Coventry.
Wise has managed Millwall and Saints as player boss, before a two-year spell with Leeds in 2006-08, but hasn't been back in management since.
