Peaky Blinders is latest show to be hit with mumbling moans as viewers complain they can’t understand the actors’ Brummie accents
PEAKY Blinders' triumphant return to the screen wasn't a complete success as the show is yet another BBC production to be hit with sound complaints.
Following last night's series four premiere fans took to social media to complain of poor sound quality, with many pointing the finger at the cast, accusing them of mumbling incoherently.
Sitting down to watch the smash-hit BBC Two show, some fans were left fuming as they struggled to hear the dialogue between Thomas Shelby (Cillian Murphy) and co.
Flocking to Twitter in their droves fans were quick to speak out about what they saw as sound quality issues.
One irate fan tweeted: "Is it just me or is the sound quality on #PeakyBlinders really bad? #mumblegate."
Another complained: "Why do they all mumble or whisper when talking in Peaky Blinders??"
And they weren't the only ones. Some fans chose to blame the issue on their TV sets and satellite boxes, with one bewildered viewer asking: "Is it just our #SkyQ box or is #Peakyblinder sound/picture synch completely wrong?"
Others, however, chose to poke fun at the sound issues - with one fan in particular saying it did little to affect her viewing of the show.
Posting a picture of Cillian dressed as Tommy, the die-hard Blinders fan joked: "Sound bad TV... bothered?? Noooo.. just stares at screen. Mouth gaping open #Peakyblinders."
The discontented viewers sent out their tweets as the cast of Peaky Blinders returned for a highly-anticipated fourth series.
The show, which charts the unstable fortunes of Birmingham-based gang the Peaky Blinders, has been a smash-hit for the BBC - with the show exploding worldwide.
Series three ended with the Tommy and his family pulling off a daring raid, out-manoeuvring Romanov/Petrovna family and stealing their jewels.
However, it also saw Tommy willingly letting the police take himself and his family away in handcuffs.
Peaky Blinders continues next Wednesday on BBC Two at 9pm.
