Victoria Beckham dishes out fashion advice to delighted fans for $2 at a stall in Central Park
The ex-singer showed off her sense of humour as she asked strangers for money - just so they could hear her opinions on their outfits
VICTORIA Beckham has shown off her good sense of humour – dishing out fashion advice in New York’s Central Park and charging for the privilege.
The former Spice Girl took part in magazine’s Derek Does Stuff With a Friend, which saw journo and Instagram influencer Derek Blasberg take to the streets with a mobile fashion booth and Victoria appearing via video link on an iPad.
And the best part? Victoria was charging fans just £1.50 to hear her opinions on what’s hot and what’s not.
When Derek told Victoria how much money he’d be taking from fans, she replied: “Then I will have to give them what they want. What they really, really want.”
For anyone under the age of 20, Victoria was, of course, referencing one of the Spice Girl’s biggest hits, Wannabe.
Initially, passers by were a little unsure to approach the booth, and the singer-turned fashionista had to work hard to encourage people over.
She said: "Oh come on, you need advice! Don't be shy!"
One man who appeared at the booth asked Victoria what she thought of his man bun.
She replied: “I like the man bun... because I think it's super flattering on your face.”
Another chap even asked if it was acceptable to wear white after Labour Day, and Victoria was adamant rules are there to be broken.
She said: “I think rules are there to be broken, you know! The sun is still shining, you might as well wear it while you can!”
Victoria was then asked her favourite fall fashion advice… and the answer seemed quite obvious.
She said: “I think you’ve gotta have a good coat. I know it sounds obvious, but in New York it gets so cold!”
One stylish lady even took a selfie with Victoria, while her face was still being displayed on the iPad.
Victoria – who raises 3 sons and daughter with husband David – also dished out some maternity fashion tips.
She said: “I took my jeans and cut out little Vs out of the sides and put elastic in them.”
Victoria finished off by praising a skateboarder for wearing a helmet.
She decided to donate the proceeds from her mobile fashion booth to UNAIDS, where she’s a Goodwill Ambassador.
