IRISH actor Cillian Murphy has won over fans worldwide for his talent and heartthrob status.

He stunned audiences with his performance in Oppenheimer and was nominated for an Academy Award.

Cillian Murphy was born May 25, 1976 in Douglas, Ireland.

He stands at just 5 feet 7 inches tall and is an actor.

In his teens, he began playing guitar and singing in multiple bands with his brother.

In Oppenheimer, Cillian Murphy played the father of the atomic bomb.

Although he has delivered award-winning performances throughout his career, he revealed that this role was not without challenge.

He told the CBS Mornings panel, "I knew I had an awful lot of work to do as quickly as I could."

"I love work that is very, very challenging and scares the life out of you because you think, 'How am I going to do this?'" said Murphy.

"It's such a huge thing to take on. That's the stuff that really gets me going, rather than something that I think, 'I know how to do that.'"
