Geordie Shore’s Sophie Kasaei and Joel Corry HAVE split after five years together following her cryptic comments at MTV EMAs
GEORDIE Shore’s Sophie Kasaei has split from boyfriend Joel Corry after five years of dating.
The reality star sparked speculation it was over at the weekend when she refused to comment on her relationship status, and now a source has confirmed the news.
They told us: "They have split. It's been rocky for a while but it's over. I don't think she wants to talk about it too much as it's been very on and off, but it's over right now."
On Sunday night Sophie was quizzed about their romance as she attended the MTV EMAs, after not being seen with Joel for some time.
She cryptically responded tomagazine: “Rumours are rumours… but I just want to concentrate on me now.
“I’m getting a lot older, I’m 28 now, I started Geordie Shore when I was 21.”
She added: “It’s just complicated, it’s complicated you know.”
And just a couple of weeks before, she cryptically discussed new beginnings with Charlotte Crosby, after she too split from Stephen Bear.
She tweeted: “I can join in now on the journey.”
In another post, she wrote: “Right I think I'm officially getting back to normal now after filming, starting to feel slightly human again. I'm ready for new beginnings.”
Sophie and Joel first met when Joel was working as a production intern at MTV and they started dating in 2012.
He joined her on the show in the second series and the couple were plagued with drama continuously, amid ongoing cheating allegations.
But despite all that they remained together and earlier this year, she gushed to MailOnline: “We've been together five years which is a long time for reality TV.
“All reality shows have the relationship curse and I'm very proud we're still together. I trust him 100%. I believe people change. Joel's 27 and when he was younger he did do stuff - so did I - but it all fell on him.”
Representatives for Sophie declined to comment.
