Declan Donnelly arrives at Ant McPartlin’s home ahead of I’m A Celebrity after it’s revealed the presenter is ‘leading a separate life’ from wife Lisa Armstrong
DECLAN Donnelly visited pal Ant McPartlin at the presenter's London home yesterday.
As the Geordie duo prepare to head off Down Under for I'm a Celeb, Dec caught up with Ant at his marital home.
Ant's wife, Lisa - who is living separately to her husband after he moved into a rented house nearby - was also seen outside the house - sporting a new pink hairdo.
Although Ant and Lisa were at the house at the same time, the couple - who have been married for 11 years - are leading separate lives.
As previously reported by The Sun's Dan Wootton, Ant has moved out of the couple's £6 million mansion and into a £1.6million rented house a few streets away - so he can still be close to his beloved labrador Hurley.
A source said: “Ant is spending time apart from Lisa — he’s said he needs space and everyone respects that.
“They are effectively leading separate lives while he re-evaluates everything.”
Ant spent two months in rehab this year after becoming addicted to prescription drugs following an op on his knee.
Ant is due to fly to Australia within the next few days with best friend and co-host Dec.
While there, Ant will spend time evaluating the future of his 23-year relationship with Lisa, Strictly Come Dancing’s head make-up artist.
The source added: “He’s incredibly excited to receive the all-clear to host I’m A Celebrity with Dec.
“That’s what he’s been working towards. He’s going to be there for a number of weeks while Lisa is busy working behind the scenes on Strictly.
“It’s going to be a make or break few weeks as they decide how they feel about each other.
“But the sad reality is that it’s not looking positive that the marriage will survive long-term.”
Although Ant and Lisa are living apart, they're still on good terms.
The pal said: “It’s obviously difficult but they need to be given time to work through it all.
“They have met up loads. He’s been around to the house and they have chatted things through.
“Ant adores Hurley and he spends a lot of time with the dog as well — that’s important for his state of mind, too.”
