His older brother is Corrie star Ryan Thomas, known for playing Jason Grimshaw.

Adam shot to fame in 2006 playing Donte Charles in BBC drama Waterloo Road.
After he quit, he joined the cast of Emmerdale in 2009 playing Adam Barton.
