GBBO winner Sophie Faldo reveals the real reason behind her boob job
BAKE Off winner Sophie Faldo has revealed the real reason behind her boob job and admitted the stresses inside the tent made her gain more than a stone and become her "heaviest ever" after spending weeks comfort-eating cake.
The former Army officer was crowned winner of the re-vamped Channel 4 show last week.
Yet the 34-year-old has now confessed her shape had significantly changed in the period between being granted the top accolade by judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood, to when she first whipped up a storm in the early rounds.
She added she is now "the heaviest I've ever been."
Sophie, who hopes to build on her success with a patisserie book, : "I've put on a lot.
"From starting the show (in May) I've put on 1st 2lb.
"And it's not just eating the cake, it's the not being able to train as much and the general stress of the show.
"I'm the heaviest I've ever been but I'm back into training now and I'm getting it off.
"It was frustrating for me to see how much muscle I'm losing and I was getting unfit but I wanted to put everything in and I could worry about the consequences later."
Sophie was training to be a stuntwoman before competing for the Bake Off title.
And opening up on life before the hit TV show she confessed to having a boob job in 2010.
The bubbly brunette detailed how intense army training in 2006 saw her lose a shed load of weight and she "ended up with a fair amount of sag in the boob department."
Sophie told how the procedure followed her selection for the Cambrian Patrol and boosted her confidence.
She added: "I knew it would help my confidence so I had an uplift.
"The surgeon did a great job and I'm happy with the results.
"I had no interest in making them bigger, I just wanted them to go back to normal."
Yet she has ruled out any follow-up work.
On Tuesday, Bake Off regulars saw Sophie beat rivals Steven Carter-Bailey and Kate Lyon and win the coveted cakestand - the first since the show moved to Channel 4.
The judges were impressed by her showstopper Entremet, which she called Ode to the Honey Bee.
Prue Leith called it beautiful and said the taste was "amazing", impressed with the lemon and lavender filling. Paul Hollywood said he loved it, putting a smile on Sophie's face.
Her victory, though, didn't come as a surprise to many Bake Off addicts after Prue Leith inadvertently revealed the result on her Twitter account 12 hours before the episode aired.
Sophie, who lives with 24-year-old chef boyfriend David Slattery, told the magazine while she flagged up the social media post to show bosses, she didn't hold any grudge.
We also previously revealed Sophie had a steamy fling with a cyclist toyboy 12 years her junior.
