EAMONN Holmes has joked he's become the latest victim of the dreaded "curse" of Strictly Come Dancing after his wife Ruth Langsford "romped" with Anton Du Beke on the live show.
The This Morning presenter - who was present in the audience of tonight's show - was left dumbfounded as his wife fell to the floor with her dance partner, then made light of the moment by jumping on top of him.
Posting a picture of the moment his wife got her leg over Anton in the middle of the dancefloor, Eamonn pondered: "Don't ask me what u r looking at here ....But did The Curse of just strike before my very Eyes?"
Anton also addressed the hilarious moment and added fuel to the fire by joking on Instagram: "This wasn’t meant for the live stage... Normally we do this in rehearsal. Sorry needs must !!! 😂😍 "
The BBC dancing show has become infamous for claiming couples during the show's run after making and breaking relationships as the hectic schedules and close quarters of the celebs and their partners cross over.
The Strictly team also posted the moment Ruth and Anton got backstage to discuss what had happened, both having the giggles at what had unfolded just minutes prior.
The pair's performance of a Paso Doble ended in disaster as they both lost their footing and ended up on the ballroom floor collapsed in a pile.
Trying to make light of the situation, cheeky Ruth then gave the audience and judges and eyeful as she straddled the professional partner for a joke, leaving the professional performer wriggling underneath.
Becoming a matador and his paramour, Anton and Ruth took on a hilarious take of the Paso Doble to The Shady Dame from Brazil by Julie Andrews.
Tess Daly then revealed through the laughter that the moment was completely unplanned.
Thankfully, Eamonn saw the funny side and was left with his hands over his mouth in disbelief at the awkward moment as it aired live on TV.
Bruno joked: “You look like Manuel off Fawlty Towers on Spanish night! We ended up with murder on the dancefloor! But what more do you want?”
Craig revealed he was battling his own enjoyment and told them: “It’s entertainment vs technique, I think you’re being really smart by choosing the entertainment route, as people at home will vote for it. But I couldn’t possibly.”
Darcy added: “You came alive, the looks you gave Anton, it was just divine.”
"I’ve never seen a Paso Doble so humorous," concluded Shirley. "I’m not laughing at you, I’m laughing with you!"
The hilarious moment came at the end of a jokey routine for the pair of them, but the fall sent them to the bottom of the leaderboard with only 22 points.
The pair are now relying on the audience at home to save them as the halfway point leaves them far lower than anyone else on the scoreboard.
