Simon Cowell begins cycling to work for new get-fit lifestyle after ‘terrifying’ fall down stairs (on an electric bike)

X FACTOR guru Simon Cowell is kick-starting a new healthy lifestyle by getting on his bike.

But the Syco music mogul, who vowed to get fit after tumbling down stairs at home last week, will not work up too much of a sweat as he has gone electric.

A source said he bought two 28mph battery-powered bikes worth more than £2,000 each for his London home and another for his Los Angeles pad.

They added: “The bikes might be electric but it still has more benefits than getting driven to his desk. It’s a start.”

Cowell, 58 — making a daily three-mile round trip to his office in Kensington, West London — was rushed to hospital last Friday.

Afterwards the dad-of-one told The Sun: “They think I fainted because I had low blood pressure and so I have got to really take good care of myself to sort that out.”

He was told to rest, with Alesha Dixon stepping in for the weekend’s shows.
