What time does Unspeakable start on Channel 4, who’s in the cast with Indira Varma and Luke Treadaway and what’s it about?
Here's all you need to know about this one-off drama - following a woman who discovers her new boyfriend might be abusing her daughter
TV DRAMA seldom gets as dark and daring as as Channel 4's upcoming one-off programme, Unspeakable which airs TONIGHT.
Here's all you need to know about the drama, who's in it and why you'll probably be talking about it at work tomorrow...
What time is Unspeakable being shown on Channel 4?
Unspeakable will be shown on Channel 4 tonight, that's November 5 at 9pm.
It's a one-off drama which lasts an hour and is followed by Gogglebox.
The unsettling script was written by documentary-maker David Nath, who also directed the piece.
Starting as a documentary, the drama was written in response to the growing understanding of how widespread domestic abuse is and how toxic suspicion can be.
Nath says it's been "inspired by dozens of real-life cases" but because of the fact child victims have to remain anonymous, he found it much easier to write as a drama.
What is Unspeakable about?
The story of Unspeakable takes place over one day, and begins after working mum Jo drops her children off at school.
She receives a text message from an anonymous source that claims her 11-year-old daughter is involved in a relationship with her new, live-in boyfriend Danny.
The accusation soon turns Jo's world inside out as she analyses her partner in minute detail and tries to work out if Danny is capable of doing such a thing.
Who is in the cast of Unspeakable?
The role of Jo is played by Indira Varma, who you may know from Game Of Thrones, in which she played aEllaria Sand.
Interestingly that character was also intent on protecting her child.
Luke Treadaway will play Danny, which is a major departure from his recent role in A Streetcat Named Bob.
Joining them in the cast are Utopia's Neil Maskell and Shaun Of The Dead's Kate Ashfield, plus Will Thorp, Nina Sorrentino, Alison Garner and Lucas Bond.
