Liam Gallagher to get mouthy on Channel 4’s Celebrity Gogglebox and will be joined by his mum and 16-year-old son
Sources say that viewers will be in for a treat if he is half as ruthless on the show as he is on Twitter
MOUTHY frontman Liam Gallagher has been given a platform to spout his views on TV by signing up for Celebrity Gogglebox.
The former Oasis singer, 45, will be joined by his mum Peggy and son Gene, 16, on the living room sofa for the Stand-up To Cancer special.
Liam, who shocked his fans by revealing he was huge fan of ITV2 show Love Island earlier this year, follows his brother Noel by appearing on the charity edition of the Channel 4 show.
Gogglebox bosses believe they’ve landed a huge coup by securing Liam for the show.
A TV insider said: “Liam is one of the most opinionated celebrities ever.
“To get him talking about current shows will be TV Gold.
“If he’s half as ruthless as he is on Twitter, viewers will be in for a treat.”
As well as Liam, the Gogglebox Celebrity special - which will be part of Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer campaign this Friday at 9pm- will also feature Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, rock royalty
Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne , plus A League of Their Own stars Freddie Flintoff and Jamie Redknapp.
Speaking about making his Gogglebox debut, Liam said: “ It’s an honour and privilege to be invited on one of my favourite TV shows, the mighty Gogglebox especially with my fam and for such a great cause as Stand up To Cancer”.
In recent years, top stars including Niall Horan, Olly Murs, Noami Campbell, Geri Horner and Jamie Dornan have featured on the celebrity special.
