C'EST LA V

V Festival might be no more but these memorable moments will ensure it will NEVER be forgotten

From Jay Z's outrageous arrival earlier this year to rock gods Oasis playing their last ever show at the festival, we take a look at the event's biggest moments

V FESTIVAL has come to an end this year after 22 lively years - but these memorable moments will ensure the annual music event will live long in the memory.

Starting with the most recent festival, who can forget rap legend Jay Z's entrance to the site in an S92 military chopper? The star went on to perform a hit-filled set as well as a tribute to the late Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington.

While there's been many musical highlights, there's also been plenty of news made backstage and not always for the right reasons.

Last year Mark Wright and Danny Dyer were involved in a nasty altercation, which saw Mark's pals literally stick the boot into the EastEnders star as their feud escalated in the VIP area. Luckily no-one was seriously hurt, but the scuffle went down in festival folklore.

The festival landed itself a major coup in the form of Justin Bieber, when the Sorry singer signed on to headline last year's event.

However, the controversial star spent a bit too much time partying the night before his Saturday slot on the main stage, admitting he was feeling a little hungover.

Unsurprisingly, it wasn't his finest vocal performance and his set drew criticism from fans.

While her husband Jay Z made the list for his entrance, it was Beyoncé's exit form the festival that made headlines back in 2013.

Following her successful performance she ran up a bill of £1,500 at the Chelmsford branch of Nando's, clearly having worked up a huge appetite on stage.

Brit pop icons Oasis' last ever gig was at the Staffordshire leg of the festival in 2009. The band famously pulled out of the following day's slot and just weeks later Noel Gallagher announced he could no longer work with his colourful brother Liam.

It might not be a singular memory, but the festival's history is full of bands rocking the festival to its core. From the likes of The Killers, Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters, Radiohead and The Arctic Monkeys, the line ups were regularly a who's who of rock giants.

There was a golden reality TV moment this summer when Chris Hughes and Kem Cetinay met their idol Stormzy backstage after it was revealed the grim star was a big fan of their time in Love Island.

Lots of hugging and selfies ensued and the pair even got a shout out during Stormzy's performance.
