This Morning’s Phillip Schofield gets irate as he’s forced to apologise after embarrassing spelling blunder
Fans of the show pointed out the mistake as Holly, Phil and Martin discussed the Bank of England base rate rise. And Phil didn’t seem impressed when he also spotted the error.
PHILLIP Schofield looked mutinous when he was forced to apologise for a spelling mistake on This Morning.
The veteran TV host spotted the error during a discussion about the Bank of England base rate rise with Holly Willoughby and Martin Lewis.
A simple error meant the ticker tape that was on the screen showed “mortgage” spelt as “mortage”.
Fans were quick to point out the blunder as the trio discussed how a rise in interest rates would affect the public.
One tweeted: “Another spelling mistake on #ThisMorning what a shock.”
A second wrote: “Lol #ThisMorning seem to have trouble with their spelling of (Mortgage).”
While a third commented: “Spellcheckers just been sacked!”
It seems Phil noticed the blunder not long after and quickly apologised to viewers at home.

Looking up from his cue cards, Phil told the viewers: “We are also really sorry that we spelt mortgage wrong there.”
Putting his head down, Phil then pretended to snore as Holly moved the conversation on.
This Morning fans were jubilant when the popular presenting duo returned to their screens today.
They had been replaced by Amanda Holden and Ben Shephard for their week long break.
Holly wowed viewers with a sequinned skirt and fans complimented her sense of style as she posed for pictures beforehand.
One fan tweeted: “Buzzing Phil and Holly are back #ThisMorning.”
A second wrote: “All is right again @Schofe and @hollywills is back on #ThisMorning.”
A third commented: “Holly looks amazing in that skirt!”
