Adele beats Daniel Radcliffe to be named the richest UK celebrity under 30
ADELE has only gone and done it again – retaining her crown as the richest British celebrity under 30, beating competition from the likes of chart rival Ed Sheeran and actor Daniel Radcliffe.
The Hello hitmaker, 29, has amassed a staggering £132 million fortune, according to the heat Rich List, the magazine’s annual guide to the UK’s wealthiest young stars.
Although the pop diva was forced to cancel her shows at Wembley Stadium earlier in the year, Adele made more than £500k per night during her 121-date Adele Live tour.
If you’re wondering where the star spends her money, she’s investing it wisely – Adele owns a plush, new £4 million mansion in Sussex, a £5.4 million LA Mansion, a £5.65 million London mews house and a £5 million seaside home in Hove.
Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe retains his spot at number 2 on the list with a £78 million fortune – £54 million less than Adele.
The Harry Potter star is still making money from his role as the titular boy wizard – and, thanks to his parents’ canny business sense where, back in 2000 they set up a company to invest his cash, Daniel can continue laughing all the way to the bank.
Daniel’s Potter costar Emma Watson is slightly further down the list at number 5, with a rather magical £48 million.
In third place is Ed Sheeran with an estimated fortune of £52 million. Thanks to the chart success of his recent ÷ album, Ed’s been earning himself a cool £47k per day. His 18-month world tour earned Ed around £700k per gig. Not bad work if you can get it!
In fourth place is Harry Styles with £56 million – making him the richest member of One Direction. Following the band’s split, each former member ranks separately on heat’s list – but they each take up five for the top ten spots.
Harry’s bringing home the bacon thanks to his solo record deal and fledgling acting career.
Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne feature in joint six place with £40 million each, although Liam and his girlfriend Cheryl Cole have a combined wealth of £60 million.
Zayn Malik is said to have missed out on a £5 million payday when he quit the band – but he still has £37 million in the bank, putting him at number 9 on the list.
Little Mix are 10 on the list thanks to the band’s countless sponsorship deals and their The Glory Days tour has grossed £6m so far. Collectively, the girls – Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall – are worth £28 million, with individual fortunes of £7 million.
Outside the UK, Justin Bieber has overtaken Taylor Swift to become the wealthiest star under 30 – and it’s all thanks to his Purpose world tour grossing £94 million, and JustMoji icons and Calvin Klein adverts earning him an estimated £62.8m in 12 months alone. Justin’s worth £231 million, while Taylor boasts a fortune of £209 million.

Commenting on the results, heat’s Lucie Cave said: “Every year heralds huge surprises in heat’s list of money makers and new entries in for 2017 show that reality TV can mean riches for some (hello Joey Essex, Sam Faiers and Rylan Clarke Neal!) but ultimately it’s still old fashioned singer songwriters who make the most dosh. Adele, we bow down once more.”
