Axed EastEnders’ star Jacqueline Jossa doesn’t know how Lauren Branning will leave the show
The actress' Dan Osborne husband claimed the way her character will leave is still unknown
EASTENDERS star Jacqueline Jossa still doesn't know if her character Lauren Branning will be killed off after it was revealed she's been axed from the show.
News the actress would no longer be part of the BBC soap shocked fans as The Sun exclusively revealed both Jacqueline and her screen sister Abi, played by Lorna Fitzgerald, were being written off.
Lorna has been told the fate of her character, but Jacqueline Jossa's husband Dan Osborne claimed the way Lauren will leave is still unknown.
He told The Star: "I have no idea if she's being killed off or not. She doesn't even know. She really wants to find out but hasn't been told yet."
The Sun revealed the sisters are due to leave the Square in a plot bombshell as part of a shake-up but TV boss John Yorke.
Lorna is leaving after 11 years on the soap and Jacqueline after seven, with their exits likely to be part of Christmas storylines.
A source said: “He has form for creating huge plots, so they’re in safe hands over their departure.
“It will be one of the biggest on-screen moments of the year.
“Sometimes a great storyline comes at the cost of losing some characters. The cast will be sorry to see them go.”
A show spokesman said: “We can confirm Jacqueline and Lorna will be leaving. They have been wonderful to work with and we wish them all the best for the future.”
Jacqueline joined in 2010. The actress — wed to ex-Towie star Dan, 26 — left in 2015 to have baby Ella, now two, and returned in May last year.
Fans have seen her character battle booze, run over and injure dad Max, have a fling with cousin Joey and a tot with Peter Beale.
Jacqueline is thought to be worried about her future but Dan insisted she would be back in screens soon.
He added: "Work is important to her so she will soon have things lined up once she's out of contract."
