5 of the most epic moments from X Factor judges’ houses – including THAT iconic reaction from Rylan Clark-Neal
As the rundown to the live show starts, some hopefuls pull out all the stops in the judge's houses in a bid to get them picked - with hilarious, disastrous, or just plain spectacular results
X FACTOR hopefuls always know to put their heart and souls on the line when they reach the judges' houses as they make their last attempts to get through to the live finals (while topping up their tans in the process)
Here are some of the most bizarre and iconic moments the judge's houses have brought us over the years, and what happened to those that made it...
Rylan Clark-Neal's epic breakdown
While finding out you're through to the live finals can be an emotional time for anyone - NOONE'S reaction has ever quite been like Rylan's.
In 2012, as he sat down with Nicole, the emotional wannabe was barely keeping it together as he waited to discover his fate.
When she told him he was through, the star fell to the floor in the most dramatic fashion, pulling the most wonderful ugly cry face as he struggled to breathe through his tears.
After thinking it was a wind up, the star then buried his face into a pillow as dramatic music played.
Ottavio Columbro throws Bradley Hunt into a pool
The comedy duo certainly made a splash on the competition thanks to their quirky personas, chicken rows and colourful costumes in 2016.
However, after making it through to the judges houses, their biggest moment came after performing their own take on Christina Aguilera's Candy Man, Ottavio finished the song by shoving pal Bradley into the pool.
As judges Louis Walsh, Fleur East and Alesha Dixon looked on stunned, Bradley just announced: "I'm melting! Are you kidding me?!"
Worrying about his outfit, he then announced: "I spent hours doing this with that glue gun!"
Sinitta turns boys' heads in palm leaves
Recruited by Simon Cowell to help him pick his final three in 2009, Sinitta made sure that no matter what, she was centre of attention.
As part of the Over 25s house, Sinitta left the hopefuls - including a young Olly Murs - completely dumbstruck as she arrived and introduced herself in a bikini fashioned entirely out of palm leaves.
Showing off her killer figure, the larger than life star has gone down in infamy for the moment - and cemented her X Factor legacy forever.
Robbie Williams trying his luck in Sinitta's outfit
Never one to be outdone, Robbie Williams tried his luck at the leaf outfit when he joined Take That pal Gary Barlow in 2011.
Helping choose the Under 25s, Robbie came out loud and proud - with a pair of high socks to give the outfit that 'manly' edge.
"I saw Sinitta in it and thought 'that's what I need to do!'," he joked.
Finalist Marcus James then told the cameras: "For a minute, I genuinely thought it was Sinitta!"
He later got his eyes tested.
One Direction comes together
You could almost see the dollar signs flashing in Simon Cowell's eyes when he first heard One Direction perform as a unit in 2010.
Putting them together as a boyband after Louis, Niall, Harry, Zayn and Liam auditioned separately, it was clear to see that he was on to something good as the boys performed Natalie Imbruglia's Torn.
However, their audition was almost thrown into chaos when Louis was rushed to hospital after being stung by a sea urchin.
Thankfully, he pushed through like a champion and the fivesome haven't looked back since, becoming the most successful band of the entire show's run.
