Who is Leon Mallet? X Factor 2017 wildcard sent home on the second weekend of live shows
Young hopeful from Norfolk left his brother behind and made it through to the second round of live shows
THE X Factor's Leon Mallett was hugely successful on the 2017 even after he had to leave his own brother in the dust.
He was selected as one of this year's four wildcards and got through the first round of live shows before leaving the competition the second weekend. Here's the lowdown on Leon...
Who is Leon Mallett, how old is he and what is his background?
Leon Mallett is a singer from Lingwood, Norfolk - who competed on The X Factor 2017.
The 22-year-old has had some success as a singer already under the stage name Leon James and has worked as a performer with his 18-year-old brother James at The Carlton Hotel in Great Yarmouth.
He also previously auditioned for The X Factor in 2014 as part of boy band Fifth Street and made it through to Boot Camp.
On this series he auditioned as a duo with brother Alex, under the name ITG (In The Genetics).
What happened to Leon and Alex on the show?
Despite getting through the first rounds as a pair, Simon Cowell said he and Alex should be split up for the Six Chair Challenge.
As a result only Leon made it through which was upsetting for viewers.
Now Leon is in Louis Walsh’s Boys category along with Lloyd Mason, Spencer Sutherland, Jack Mason, Sam Black and Aidan Martin.
At Judges' Houses Leon and his fellow competitors met Louis' pal Mika, the singer behind hit track Grace Kelly.
Leon made it through the first weekend of live shows before being eliminated on the Saturday night of the second weekend.
