TOWIE star Jess Wright has defended brother Mark's bizarre stateside accent after viewers picked up on his "weird" American twang.
Fans of Extra TV noticed something different about his Essex tone when he interviewed Hollywood legend Liam Neeson.
His sister Jess told the Sun’s Bizarre column she reckons he was doing it to cater to the audience across the pond.
Speaking at the Trafalgar St. James launch last night, she said: "I think he has got to cater for the English and the Americans so I guess he has to put on a bit of a twang.
“I don't think he's doing it for effect, I think he's genuinely doing it so when American people watch it they understand him.
“We're really proud of him and he's doing really well over there.”
Mark could hardly contain his excitement when he got to speak to Taken actor Liam, 65, and the pair bonded over skinny jeans.
But some viewers were left “cringing” at Mark’s interview.

Twitter user HassallCo said: “Sorry but I can’t get over Mark Wright on Instagram, what’s with the change of accent all of a sudden. You’ve been in America five minutes.”
Millie Bright ranted: “Why does Mark Wright now have this cringey new accent is he trying to be posh?”
Rebecca Wood tweeted: “Howling at Mark Wright's accent. What the f*** off."
Whilst one said: “This new accent he’s putting on makes me cringe so much.”
And another exclaimed: “What's happened to your accent Mark?” and “Do not lose your accent. British and proud”.
The Sun revealed last month Mark has been taking elocution lessons to tone down the Essex accent.
It came after he landed the permanent role on Extra in Los Angeles.
On the lessons, he told Extra co-host Mario Lopez: “It’s just to neutralise my accent.
“I speak quite regional, so if I was going to invite you to the pub this is how I would usually do it to my friends.”
