Towie’s Jamie Reed shows off pictures of his hair transplant after undergoing an eight-hour operation
TOWIE star Jamie Reed has shown off pictures of his recent hair transplant, involving an eight-hour operation.
Amber Turner's ex, who thinks the surgery is now the "male equivalent of the boob job", had thousands of hairs from the back of his head moved forward by hand to supplement his fringe line.
The 34-year-old was pictured grimacing as he sat in a chair while two surgeons went to work on his individual hair follicles.
Later he wore a bandage round the back of his head as the bloodied spots across his scalp began to heal.
Jamie, who is dating 23-year-old model Jade Lewis, went to a plush clinic called KSL in Maistone, Kent, and was accompanied by his girlfriend for the appointment.
The Essex club promoter is not the first celeb to get a treatment like this as Jake Quickenden and George Sampson showed off the results of their ops this year, following on from the likes of Calum Best.
Jamie's consultant on the op was Simon Lindsay who reassured Jamie the op wouldn't be too unbearable, seeing as he would be awake throughout.
Through work, the TV star has been known to rub shoulders with the likes of Frank Bruno and Mike Thalassitis in recent weeks so it's no surprise he wants his hair to be performing at its best.
The Essex native says many of his Towie pals have, either secretly or openly, had the operation done in recent years and he thinks it' "more acceptable now more than ever".
The op comes a month after reports claimed Jamie and Jade were on the rocks - and seven months after Jamie's dramatic split from Amber, who cheated on him with Dan Edgar during a holiday.
Jamie is now thought to be fighting to keep his new relationship with stunning model Jade alive.
A source said in September: "They've not split yet, but it's really rocky.

"The rest of the Towie cast are all convinced it's over, but Jamie and Jade are desperately trying to work through it and stick together.
"They know they'll get more air time as a couple so it's not great timing for a split."
At least Jamie knows he won't have to part with any hair for now.
