The Chase star Mark Labbett bravely strips to his boxers for Loose Women’s Body Stories campaign – as he admits sugar cravings have given him diabetes
The 52-year-old quizmaster confessed that while he's comfortable in his own skin, ten bars of chocolate a day left him diabetic
THE CHASE star Mark Labbett has stripped down to his boxers on Loose Women to add himself to the line-up of their male Body Stories campaigns – as he reveals he’s been diagnosed with diabetes.
Nicknamed Beast, Mark volunteered to join in on the campaign to promote body positivity for the bigger sizes after noticing that the other men involved didn’t represent them.
Joining the panel – which consisted of Kay Adams, Linda Robson, Stacey Solomon and Andrea McLean – Mark seemed to be regretting his decision as he joked: “Me and my big mouth”.
The star then went on to explain that he had been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and had slimmed down two stone.
Confessing that at his worst he would eat up to ten bars of chocolate a DAY, the 52-year-old star said: “I’m not going to complain. I’ve done the crime so I’ll do the time.”
Despite this, he said that he had a good relationship with his figure and definitely declared: “I am what I am.
"If people say to me I’m fat it’s not because they hate people are fat it’s because they’re looking at anything to come at me.”
Taking a jab at internet trolls, he added: “Why do some of these people spend so much time trying to be someone else?
"I’m quite happy being me – I don’t have time to be anyone else!”
About his big reveal, he said: “I won’t lie I’m a little bit nervous about this but you should do something that scares you every once in a while.”
However, she said that his wife wasn’t behind his decision to take part in the show.
“[She’s] not happy,” he admitted. “She just felt that it wasn’t appropriate.”
“But I would wear this walking around a swimming pool, so why not in front of a camera?”
