GEORGE Michael is being remembered in a new documentary, which will focus on his music career and life in the 90s.
Freedom: The George Michael Story will also look closely at his album Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 - here's what we know about this iconic record...
When did George Michael release Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1?
Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 is the second solo studio album by George, released on September 3, 1990, it followed on from his 80s album Faith.
It was a big success in the UK, and went four times platinum and sold millions around the world.
But disappointing album sales in the US led to Michael's legal battles against Sony Music, in which he accused the corporation of not fully supporting him as an artist.
It also wasn't necessarily an easy album for George to make and promote.
At the time, he was struggling with how then-label Sony wanted to market him following the success of his first solo LP, Faith.
Tensions rose after he refused to be pictured on the cover of the album or feature in the promos, hence how the iconic video for Freedom 90 came about.
Who was in his music video Freedom 90?
George Michael's song Freedom 90 was released on October 30, 1990.
It was the third single from Listen Without Prejudice Vol.1.
Supermodels of the time Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington and Tatjana Patitz all featured in the video, lip-syncing to the song.
George famously didn't appear in the iconic video.
What is Channel 4's Freedom documentary?
Freedom: The George Michael Story will follow the life of the Careless Whisper icon.
It will delve in to the story behind Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1, and will feature perhaps the most A-list line-up of ‘talking heads’ ever.
The film, which has been backed by Sony Music, has been created by filmmaker and George's close friend, David Austin, and is meant to give a unique insight into the singer's life.
In the years before George died, he had removed himself from the spotlight, and had lived a more reclusive lifestyle.
As a result, the star opening his doors to the cameras was a huge deal for fans, who are eagerly awaiting the film's release.
