I’m A Celeb’s Joel Dommett hints Ant McPartlin WILL return to jungle to join Declan Donnelly after his recovery in LA
JOEL Dommett has dropped a big hint that Ant and Dec will host I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! together when it returns later this year.
The comedian finished runner-up to Scarlett Moffatt last year and will present the upcoming series' spin-off show Extra Camp with the Gogglebox star.
Speaking to the at last night's Specsavers' Spectacle Wearer of the Year Awards, he said was excited to work with the Geordie funnymen.
He said: "They're good guys and it'll be fun to be with them and not eating something disgusting.
"It'll be nice to hang out with them and not be eating a goat's d**k."
Shedding more light on the new series, he continued: "We head there on November 12th and then we're there for the whole thing which will be weird from the other side."
Caroline Flack is the bookies' favourite to replace Ant as co-presenter on I'm A Celebrity should he choose not to go to the jungle this year.
Filming for the show has been pushed back as Ant recovers in Los Angeles following his stint in rehab.
Caroline scored a big hit with ITV2's Love Island which she presented earlier this year.
A spokesman from betting website Paddy Power told: “Usually, Z-list celebrities are scrambling to appear on I’m A Celebrity as contestants – but now it seems like a top job might be available.
“Caroline might have copped a lot of Flack for her time fronting X Factor, but her experience on Love Island should serve her well for going Down Under.”
Holly Willoughby is second favourite with bookies to fill the spot - although earlier this year reps for Holly branded reports that she could replace Ant in the interim as "complete nonsense."
The news comes despite Ant's presenting partner Declan Donnelly reportedly telling pals he "would never" host the ITV1 show without Ant.
Pals previously told that Dec has no intention on working without Ant on any "major" show, and added: "He has said the last thing he would do is go to Australia without him."
JUNGLE ROYALTY Meet EVERY King and Queen of the I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here so far
Ant and Dec have co-hosted the hit reality contest since 2002.
The new series start is set to start next month
Ant, who got hooked on painkillers after an agonising knee op, jetted off to California last week with agent Paul Worsley.
A source close to the star said: “He’s gone to get away from the spotlight.
"He’s in recovery and it’s important he has time and space.
“Paul’s gone to provide support. He is one of his closest friends.”
A TV insider added: “Ant needed some space away. Everyone completely understands.”
