Rylan Clark-Neal reveals shock bust-up with Chris Hughes started when Love Island star ‘ignored him’ after falling out with his pal Katie Price – as they insist they’re all friends again now
The presenter says the tension occurred due to ‘crossed wires’ after Chris mistakenly thought Rylan had badmouthed him in an interview about the Katie Price situation
RYLAN Clark-Neal has revealed that last night’s argument with Chris Hughes occurred when the Love Islander thought he had spoken about him in an interview.
Speaking on This Morning, Rylan revealed to Phillip and Holly that the tension started at last night’s Specsavers Awards when a journalist asked him about Olivia Attwood branding him “Katie Price’s lapdog.”
Explaining what happened next, Rylan said: “I walked over to Olivia and said, ‘Babe, I’ve just got to ask you, some journalist just asked me about some random lapdog comment, do you know what they’re going on about?’
“And she said, ‘I’ve got no idea what you’re going on about’, and I said, ‘Honestly babe, it’s fine.’”
And while things were smoothed over with Liv, Chris wasn’t up for chatting with Rylan because he believed that Rylan had spoken negatively about him after his online bust-up with Katie, after they have accused one another of lying over text messages.
Rylan continued: “I worked with Chris a few weeks ago on Celeb Ghost Hunt, and I said, ‘You alright Chris?’ and he didn’t answer me, and I was like, ‘Hold up, hold up’, I like a turn, do you know what I mean!
“I went, ‘Chris?’ and she said, ‘Oh I think he’s got the hump about this Katie Price thing.’
“I was like, ‘What are you joking?!’ You know me, when I get irate, I don’t row with anyone, and I had a word with Chris.”
However Rylan insists that once the pair discussed what had happened they quickly made up.
“Anyway long story short, I had a chat with Chris afterward, and he got the wrong end of the stick and he thought I’d done some interview, it was a lot of crossed wires,” he said.
“I had a lovely text from Chris on the way home saying, ‘It was lovely to see you again, so sorry for what happened.’”
Rylan’s explanation comes after The Sun Online witnessed the pair having an argument last night.
A source said: “Rylan called Olivia over and it all started polite with air kisses but then he whispered in her ear and she looked shocked.
“Chris then got really irate and someone had to hold him and Rylan away from each other.”
When asked what had happened Rylan said: “No, I’m great, I just don’t want to get involved in anyone’s f***ing business.
“If I was used by Katie I’d expect to be on a bigger wage than I am now. She’s got a lot of money in the bank.
“But no I won’t have anyone say that I get involved in other people’s f***ing relationships because over the past 5 years I don’t even publicise my own f***ing relationship so why would I get involved in other people’s…”
When Chris and Olivia then made their way down the red carpet they told The Sun Online that “nothing happened” between them and Rylan.
“We were just catching up,”Olivia added.
