Where is Home and Away set? All about Palm Beach, the Surf Club, the Diner and other filming locations for the Channel 5 soap

Palm Beach is the beautiful setting for Home and Away, but did you know you can visit the set if you're headed down under?

FANS of Home and Away will know the Australian soap is set in a fictional town called Summer Bay, which is in the state of New South Wales.

The beach location will have been looked up by many and is a real place - Palm Beach. Here is all you need to know about the backdrop and other locations you see whenever an episode airs.

Where is Palm Beach?

The picturesque beach seen in Home and Away is Palm Beach, which is a real place - it’s a suburb in the northern beaches region of Sydney, New South Wales.

Sometimes referred to as ‘Palmy’, the area is home to some of the country’s most affluent people, and many famous people can be found holidaying there during the summer.

Is the Surf Club a real place?

One of the most recognisable places fans will know is the Surf Club, which has seen many storylines operate with the location at its centre.

Located on North Palm Beach, it’s also become the home of the Pier Diner.

The famous Summer Bay SLSC sign, which bears Alf Stewart’s name, is regularly visited by Home and Away fans who flock to have their pictures taken by it.

Can I visit the Diner?

The Summer Bay Diner and Alf’s bait shop is a real location in Sydney - The Boathouse Palm Beach.

It is a popular place to have lunch, host events and get married due to its beautiful backdrop.

Can I visit the Home and Away set?

There is an official Home and Away tour, which will take fans to visit Summer Bay and explore the locations they see on screen at home.

Tours leave at 9am on weekdays and last for 6 hours, so be ready to make a day of it.
