Liz, who left the Corrie cobbles in 2008, passed away on September 26 following a long battle with lung condition emphysema.

Now bosses at the ITV show are planning to pay tribute to fans' favourite Vera - and her long-suffering husband Jack, played by Bill Tarmey, who died in 2012.

They have settled on a statue to best celebrate the soap's iconic pair.

Made from either bronze or stone, it will be installed at the soap's new home at Salford Quays, in Greater Manchester.
