Katy Perry says all she wants is ‘peace’ as she addresses Las Vegas shooting during Witness World Tour
KATY Perry has said all she wants is "peace" as she addressed the heartbreaking Las Vegas shooting during a performance on her Witness World Tour.
Stephen Paddock opened fire on country music fans in Las Vegas from his hotel room at the Mandalay Bay Hotel, killing 58 and injuring over 400 people.
Speaking on stage during her performance at Madison Square Garden in New York, Katy dedicated her son Piece Of Me to the audience, according to People magazine.
She then said: "My wish is for some freakin' peace! Don't ya think?"
"This week has been crappy. This whole year has been crappy.
"We're strong than that. No one's gonna steal our joy, are they? We've come together tonight just to escape it all a little bit."
The 32-year-old hitmaker also spoke about the shooting during her concert last Tuesday.
She told the crowds: "Listen, I know it's been a tough day. But music is special. It's magic. It's something that unites us.
"There's a community here that we need to take care of, that we need to surround, that we need to lift up.
"And I know we that we all feel very disconnected sometimes, but I know music brings us together, and it should never be a place of fear, right?"
As ever Katy put on quite the show and sported an all-gold outfit as she wowed her fans.
The futuristic style concert also featured dancers with TVs on their heads and a huge Big Brother style eye illuminating the stage.
