STACEY Solomon clashed with Lizzie Cundy on Good Morning Britain today during a discussion about airbrushing.

They were debating whether all airbrushed images should have a warning label on them after France passed a new law meaning all altered images must carry a disclaimer.

While Stacey, 27, thought the law was a move in the right direction, Lizzie insisted that "everyone wants to look good".

She said: "Even in here today, you have the best lighting, the best make-up. My dad worked in film and photography and even in the 60s they were using lighting and filters to make people look good."

But Stacey thinks it's damaging for children to be constantly inundated with pictures of "perfect looking" men and women.

She said: "They see all these influencers or celebrities and they say: 'Why don't I look like that?'"

Lizzie hit back saying: "These apps are never going to make you perfect, they're just enhancing what you've got which isn't a bad thing."

"But I think it's dangerous, there's so much pressure on young people," Stacey continued.

Host Susanna Reid shared a before and after picture of herself and said: "I think it's important to tell children, 'You don't look like the girl in the magazine because the girl in the magazine doesn't look like the girl in the magazine'."

It comes as Stacey revealed she's banned her sons from using social media.

The Loose Women panellist is mum to two boys Zachary, nine, and Leighton, three, and is vocal about her concerns regarding the influence of edited images on children.

She told The Mirror: “Kids are being conditioned from a really young age about what their bodies should look like.

“The 24-hour nature of social media along with the constant steam of air-brushed images on TV and in magazines is encouraging girls in particular to strive for an ideal which doesn’t exist in reality.

"And every single action figure my boys play with – the Batmans, the Spidermans and the Supermans – has a six-pack and an immaculate body, none of them have got average bodies."

Stacey, who originally found fame on The X Factor, said she can't imagine ever allowing her boys to use Twitter or Instagram.

"I don’t let my boys have social media and try and shelter them as much as I can. There is absolutely not an age when I will let them have social media.

"I’ve realised at my age how amazing and incredible and uplifting social media can be and how you can be used for good – but I do think there should be an age limit and if it’s in the hands of young, vulnerable people it can be really detrimental."

Stacey posted a picture of herself with and without make-up to illustrate her point.

She wrote: "This is how I turned up for work (left) and how I went home (right). Black eye, period skin, and just washed, haystack hair...

"Turned into no black eye, flawless skin and soft wavy curled hair.

"I thought I'd put this up just to give anyone who wants to know a bit of reality about the difference that hair and make up makes not to mention lighting and filters etc.

"So the next time you look at somebody in a magazine or on tv or just in you social news feeds and think 'God I wish I looked like that', just think of me and what I really look like underneath all of the sorcery!"
